Former National Council of Elders Chairperson Phares Rutere’s widow Rosemary Kaguri has died 17 months after she lost the husband to Covid-19 related symptoms.

Mrs Rutere died while receiving treatment at a hospital in Nairobi last weekend, sources revealed.

She is survived by seven children and 14 grandchildren.

Burial preparations are underway at their BBC home in Maili Saba ahead of the final rites on Saturday November 19.

The late Rutere died on May 26 last year at a Nairobi hospital where he had been admitted for eight days after he was transferred from Kiirua Mission Hospital in Meru for specialised treatment.
