Three people have died and 12 others hospitalized following a yellow fever outbreak in Merti and Garbatulla Sub-Counties in Isiolo.
According to the Ministry of Health, the first case was reported on January 12, 2022 with patients presenting with fever, jaundice, muscle and joint pain with majority of those affected being males.
Residents in the high risk areas of Meru, Wajir, Garissa, Marsabit, Turkana, Samburu, West Pokot, Elgeyo Marakwet and Baringo have been advised to be on high alert.
The county governments have also been urged to set aside resources to support response and prevention activities.
