Police in Kiambu are holding a 80-year-old who was found in possession of bhang and illicit liquor estimated to be worth Sh3.2million.
The suspect was arrested at his home in Ruaka village following a tip off from members of the public.
County Police Commander Perminus Kioi said they were in hot pursuit of his accomplices who police believe were aiding the suspect in his illegal business.
The arrests come amid indefinite closure of more than 10 liquor shops in the county with security officers terming the decision as meant to restore sanity in the area.
They said they would not relent until discipline prevailed and only licensed bars would continue operating.
