Meru county government has been advised against creating a ward development fund.
Responding to row pitting Governor Kawira Mwangaza and the MCAs over establishment of the fund, the Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakang’o said the county should undertake development through ward community projects which will be determined through public participation.
Dr Nyakang’o had a consultative meeting with the two warring groups Friday after the Governor and County Speaker Ayub Bundi earlier sought an advisory opinion from her office.
She further warned MCAs against influencing decisions made at public participation forums.
