At least 16 people have died in four separate accidents in Kakamega, Nyeri, Murang’a and Kwale counties.
In the Kwale accident that occurred around 5am on Saturday morning at Taru along Mombasa-Nairobi Highway, five relatives died while four other people survived. The family members were traveling to Nairobi from Mombasa when their vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming trailer.
Four people who were riding on a motorbike died after a lorry knocked them down along Buyangu-Ekero road in Kakamega County.
An accident at Kenol in Murang’a claimed three lives before four others died in another road crash along Nyeri-Nyahururu road involving a Nissan and private vehicle. Three people were injured during the accident.
