A court in Meru has allowed police to continue holding a police officer who reportedly shot dead a man at Deputy Governor Titus Ntuchiu’s home in Kimachia village Tigania West last week.

This comes even as fresh details emerge that the officer allegedly engaged the deceased in a chase for more than 500 metres before killing him.

The late identified as Morris Mutuma, reports indicate, trespassed into Mr Ntuchiu’s home and started threatening casual workers who were working in the shamba.

The court on Tuesday allowed detectives to detain the suspect for further 14 days to allow completion of their investigations before he takes plea for murder/manslaughter charges.
