EACC Upper Eastern office in Isiolo. BETTY LUKE/PRESS POINT

Isiolo contractors who allegedly colluded with some county officials to receive payment for services not delivered will wait for a further two weeks for the court to provide directions into the matter.

This is after the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) sought three more months to continue freezing the funds.

Reports indicate that the anti-graft agency moved to court seeking orders to freeze the contractors’ accounts after obtaining information that the payments were illegally processed.

EACC obtained six-month orders under the miscellaneous application in December last year to freeze Sh46 million in accounts belonging to five companies.

The court was to issue further directions over the matter on July 13 but pushed the mention to July 26, 2021.

The funds were paid for food supplies and vehicle hiring services during former Governor Godana Doyo’s regime.
