A man in Siaya has surprised many after he sought to forgive a suspect who allegedly attacked him and stole Sh138, 000 and other personal documents from him.

The 65-year-old James Ogola told a Siaya Court that his faith had compelled him to forgive Mr Collins Onyango and his accomplices since he wanted to live a peaceful life.

He pleaded with the court to drop the case against Mr Onyango arguing if he was imprisoned, it would hurt him more.

The retired civil servant said he wanted the suspect to reform and follow the right path of life while also serving as an example to his peers.

However, the prosecutor objected and sought more time to review the case and make submissions before the court made its ruling.
