Police in Kakamega county are holding a man who killed his stepbrother as he tried to separate him and his brother while fighting with for a plate of ugali and omena in Seregea, Likuyani.
Vincent Misango was hit with a blunt object falling on the ground while trying to resolve the disagreement between the pair and succumbed at Turbo Sub-County Hospital where he was rushed in unconscious state.
The three had visited their mother at Kambi Elijah village Sunday evening when a tiff ensued after one of the brothers demanded for more omena.
Reports indicate that the brothers had in the past been embroiled in a land tussle with the deceased.
Area Sub-County Police Commander Charles Muthui said investigations were ongoing and that the suspect would be arraigned over murder.
