Former Wabera Ward MCA Salesio Kiambi has rubbished claims that he had shelved ambition in favour of rival George Karithi terming them as propaganda.

A letter seen by The Press Point purported that the duo had agreed that Mr Kiambi steps down and supports Mr Karithi in return for a nomination slot to one of his relatives.

Responding to the letter, Mr Kiambi, who is seeking a comeback on Narc Kenya party ticket, maintained that he was still in the race and had no intention of backing up for any opponent saying his candidature was community driven..

“I call upon members of the public to treat the information as mare propaganda. I am still in the race and I am not planning to step down,” said Mr Kiambi adding that his opponent had resorted to sharing false information after sensing defeat.

Flanked by a group of his supporters, the politician demanded that the PNU candidate apologize warning that he will seek legal action should he fail to do so by tomorrow (Sunday).

Ms Marcella Nkui Mugambi warned the electorates against voting for leaders who propagate falsehood online in the next month’s elections.

“We cannot vote in leaders who have a history of telling lies because they will continue peddling lies while in office. There is need for every resident to elect leaders with a clear plan to transform our lives,” she said.

Efforts to get a comment from Mr Karithi were futile as our phone calls and text messages went unanswered.
