Police in Kiambu have been allowed to hold for 10 days Githobokoini MCA Samuel Njenga and his girlfriend Julia Wambui to allow completion of investigations into their link to the murder of a 45-year-old Gerald Gachugu.

The pair reportedly colluding with three others (co-accused) to kill the deceased by hitting him with a blunt object on his head Tuesday at Nginya’s Residence at West View Estate in Juja.

The five however did not take plea before Thika Senior Resident Magistrate Margaret Kurumbu after detectives applied for more time to complete investigations following discovery that the man was killed at the MCA’s home.

Mr Njenga was with the woman and three others Alex Njihia Gathuri, Elizabeth Nyambura Macharia and Stephen Macharia Njeri.

Mr Gachugu died while being treated at Thika Level Five Hospital.

Police suspect there was a disagreement during the fateful day that resulted into some confrontation.

The case will be mentioned on May 31.
