More than 10 people including Logologo MCA Bernard Leakono who went missing after Wednesday banditry attack at Awaye area that claimed five lives have been rescued.

The 12 believed to have accompanied area senior chief Kennedy Kongoman and Assistant chief who were gunned down immediately went missing after the incident.

The MCA’s vehicle was recovered from the crime scene on Thursday.

The chief and three others were on a mission to recover dozens of stolen livestock when they were attacked.

Their bodies were recovered the following morning stashed in two vehicles that they were traveling in.

The National Police Service said investigations had been launched and contingent of officers deployed to ensure normalcy resumes.

Preliminary investigations show the attack was over rivalry between two communities in the county.
