A North Rift based human rights activist who last year demanded probe on a recruitment agency in Eldoret over fake World Cup’ Qatar jobs promised to local youths, says his life is in danger.

Activist Kimutai Kirui, who reported the threats at Eldoret Central Police Station, claimed that hired goons had been trailing him and that some influential traders had also threatened him.

Last week, he said, two men accosted him outside a hotel in Eldoret town and warned him against interfering with the recruitment agency.

The Centre Against Torture Director earlier petitioned the Uasin Gishu County Assembly to investigate the agency over the jobs that did not materialize despite collecting money from thousands of youths.

Police sources said the allegations were being probed.
