Senior Isiolo county government officers risk being summoned next month if over 80 cases of rights violation against the public filed at the Ombudsman will not have been amicably resolved.

The cases include alleged land grabbing by senior county officials, double land allocation, irregular dismissal of workers and failure to pay salaries.

Ombudsman Chair Florence Kajuju directed the Mohamed-Kuti-led to expedite resolve of the 83 cases and warned of punitive measures over failure to adhere to the directive.

The county has already established an internal complaints handling system that will verify the concerns and expeditiously arbitrate them according to the official.

“If not satisfied with the manner in which the cases will be solved, the public should report to us so that we summon the officers involved,” Ms Kajuju said during a tour of the county.
