The National Police Service (NPS) and the Inspector General of Police (IG) are on spot over alleged illegal transfers of a female cop within a month.

Corporal Sicily Namu who has been working in the forces for 16 years argues that the she was in January 23 redeployed to Naivasha Police station in Nakuru to Kerugoya Police Station in Kirinyaga.

Upon reporting, she was a week later issued with a transfer letter asking her to report to Kambi ya Moto Police Station in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado.

On February 13, two weeks later, she says another letter was issued this time round wanting her to report to Central Police Headquarters in Nyeri County.

Through Lawyer Wahome Gikonyo, the officer said although the transfers were meant to act as disciplinary actions, she had not been listened to nor given time to defend herself.

She told the court that the transfers had adversely affected her school going children.

The Nyeri Labour Relations Court has allowed the traffic officer remain at Kerugoya Police Station pending reply by the NPS and IG and subsequent hearing of the case on April 12.

The matter was certified as urgent.
