President William Ruto has appointed a new Aide-De-Camp Col. Fabian Lengusuranga from Kenya Army replacing Col. Timothy Lekolool who has been promoted to Brigadier and deployed to the Department of Defence (DoD) headquarters.

Lelokool from Kenya Navy had been the ADC to ex-President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The new ADC will be deputized by Lt Col Damaris Agnetta who takes over from Lieutenant Colonel Rachel Nduta Kamui who has been elevated to full colonel and also deployed to DoD.

The ADC assistant has been a member of the Artillery since she received her commission in 2003.

Before his appointment, Colonel Lengusuranga who was commissioned in 1999, was serving as a senior special-forces branch commander.

The new ADC started off his work by accompanying Dr Ruto at the burial of Jack Gachagua, elder brother to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in Mathira, Nyeri County.

The Aide-De-Camp is a highly trained senior military officer with a primary role of being the President’s personal assistant and not a bodyguard.

He or she assists the Head of State on protocol, security and military tradition.
