Deputy Inspector General of Police Edward Mbugua has ordered the transfer of Manyatta OCPD Emily Ngaruiya and OCS Abdullahi Yaya following the recent killing of two Embu brothers.

Mr Mbugua on Friday directed that investigation into the mysterious deaths be concluded in seven days and assured that law will take the due course.

Bodies of Emmanuel Mutura, Law student at Kabarak University, and Benson Njiru, a student at Don Bosco TTI, were found lying at Embu Level Five Hospital morgue three days after they were spotted being arrested at Kianjokoma market on Sunday night.

A post-mortem revealed that they died from multiple head and rib injuries inflicted by a blunt object.

The two senior officers will be moved to Eastern regional police headquarters with immediate effect.

The Deputy IG asked residents to stop demonstrations and allow for the conclusion of the probe assuring the family that justice must prevail.

Police officers were ordered to stop harassing bodaboda riders and instructed to unconditionally release all impounded motorcycles that had been lying at the local police stations.
