An ad-hoc committee comprising of all members of Tharaka Nithi County Assembly will on Thursday, February 18, 2021 conduct a public hearing for the BBI Constitutional Amendment Bill 2020 in the three constituencies.

In Maara Sub-County, the public participation meetings will be at Chogoria town sub-county office hall starting at exactly 2 pm and at Kajiunduthi sub-county administrator office beginning at 10 am.

In Chuka/Igambang’ombe constituency, the public hearing will take place at Chuka TransNation hall at 2 pm and Kajuki DOs grounds at 10 am.

The same public participation sessions will be held in Tharaka constituency at Marimanti town sub-county hall at 10 am and at Mukothima chief’s camp at 2 pm.

Speaking to the Press Point, the assembly clerk, Mr Amos K. Sikweya encouraged the members of the public to turn up at the venues to give their views.

He also said civil society organizations, community-based organizations and faith-based organizations or even members of the public may also choose to submit their views in a form of written memoranda which can be delivered by hand to the clerk’s office or emailed through or on or before February 18, 2021.
