Two police officers have died and several others have been reported missing after a vehicle they were traveling in ran over an explosive device believed to have been planted along Garissa-Dadaab road by Al-Shabaab militants.

Cases of Al-Shabaab militia targeting police officers in Garissa have been on the rise in the recent past.

Ten days ago, three border police officers from Suku camp in Daadab died after their vehicle ran over an explosive device.

Six days later, a water boozer belonging to the LAPPSET program was severed after running over an explosive near Korakora on the outskirts of Garissa town.
