Police in Juja, Kiambu have launched a manhunt for three suspects who stabbed to death a 23-year-old university student after robbing him of his mobile phone and other valuables.

Mr Joel Juma, a fourth year Industrial Chemistry student at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), was stabbed two times on the chest by one of the thugs around 2am.

The student was accosted while going to a friend’s room to get some revision materials while in company of his lover, a Law student at Mt Kenya University.

The thugs attacked him near hotel Lilies with two of them descending on him with blows and kicks before stabbing him twice on the left side of his chest, leaving him for the dead.

The third assailant manhandled the lady who hadn’t carried any valuable and luckily, left her unscathed.

Local guards who heard the commotion rushed to the scene and together with shocked woman rushed Juma to a local dispensary where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
