I wish to thank you all for the financial and moral support you have accorded me this far.
I am greatly disappointed that our gubernatorial race in 2022 ends here and I fully understand the pain you feel but we have to balance our emotions with reason.
This is the beginning of my political career and I wish to thank Agriculture CS Munya, Henry Baita and Stanley Kabarau for their support and guidance through this period.
As you already know, we had alot of pressure from the Azimio Principals: President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Azimio la Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
The coalition has been doing zoning all across the country and based on intelligence reports they found it best that I withdraw and support Abdi Ibrahim Guyo’s Candidature for Azimio to clinch the Isiolo seat.
Kindly understand that I can not start my political career by defying my coalition principals or putting undue pressure on my Party Leader. Without them it would be impossible to progress and achieve our goals.
In difficulty lies opportunity- Even if we have missed the Governor seat we have been able to secure great alternatives.
For once, the Ameru Community is guaranteed a Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), two county executive, three County Chief Officers, one County Public Service Board Member and a cabinet slot for my running mate Ibrahim Mohamed.
This is all in an agreement between Jubilee and PNU parties that was signed and deposited with the Registrar of Political Parties.
The testimony of my conscience is that we negotiated and accepted this proposal not for any monetary gain but I behaved with simplicity and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God and supremely so towards you.
We can view this as a strategic exit from this year’s race. I saw it best that we retreat and build on this option so that we can be able to mount a stronger and better campaign next time. Sometimes you may have to fight a battle more than once to win it.
I therefore urge you to continue believing in me and trust that I will always have your best interest at heart. I only ask that you support this decision not because you necessarily agree with it but because it is right and its the only guarantee we have.
Together we will reach our Canaan at the time that God deems fit. Our dream still lives on.
