A day after he resigned as Rift Valley Regional Coordinator, details have emerged on the Party that George Natembeya will vie on in the August elections.
Mr Natembeya resigned on January 12 and was immediately replaced by Makueni County Commissioner Mohamed Ahmed Maalim in changes announced by Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho that also saw some regional commissioners transferred and others deployed back to Nairobi.
While making the announcement in Nakuru, Mr Natembeya revealed that he will be seeking to take over the reins of Trans Nzoia County from Governor Patrick Khaemba who is serving his second term.
“My rivals have been asking me to remove my official uniform and face them in Trans Nzoia. As from Wednesday, I will hang my boots to teach them about leadership,” he said previous day to the official announcement.
Sources privy to Mr Natembeya’s political ambitions revealed to The Press Point that he will vie on Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa’s associated Democratic Action Party Kenya (DAP-K).
