Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has warned Trans Nzoia residents against electing former Rif Valley regional coordinator George Natembeya as the county’s boss accusing him of causing discord among the locals.

“He was solely responsible for setting communities against each other for political reasons. His exit is good for the peace in the Right Valley. He should have been fired,” Mr Murkomen shared on Twitter.

Mr Natembeya announced his resignation from the public service to venture into politics on Wednesday and has since been replaced by Makueni County Commissioner Mohamed Maalim.

Mr Murkomen expressed hope that the new coordinator would be apolitical to ensure peace and tranquility in the region.

“I hope the new RC will focus on peace and conflict resolution,” he noted.
