Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed that he has no personal enmity with former President Uhuru Kenyatta maintaining that the two have been friends for more than two decades.

While clearing the air on the recent speculation on friction between the two, Gachagua said that he was planning to meet the former Head of State for a cup of coffee.

“It was all politics and there was nothing personal and when things settle down I will look for him so that we have a cup of coffee and catch-up on the good old days,” he said during a recent TV interview.

The Moi-era adminstrator has on several occasions during public events lashed out at Uhuru accusing him of failure to conduct his role effectively.

Recently, during his boss President William Ruto’s inauguration ceremony, Gachagua indirectly told off Mr Kenyatta over the ailing economy.

“The truth is we have inherited a dilapidated economy that is facing almost an economic shutdown,” Gachagua noted.
